Thank you. Spell checking worked after removing the cache file. -----Original Message----- From: Jonas Smedegaard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: The Elmers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wed, 21 Mar 2007 08:23:18 +0100 Subject: Re: Bug#415608: moinmoin-common: spell check doesn't work

Thanks for your bugreport! It is not allowed for packages to distribute a full (or whatever the name is) symlink beow /usr/share - it must be a relative one. This was (silently, unfortunately) fixed in one of the latest NMUs for the package. In the package uploaded a few days ago (finally - took me quite sometime to find time for it, and more to get it working as I wanted) I maed the following small add-on to the documentation: Beware if copying /usr/share/moin to a different location: The symlink /usr/share/moin/data/dict/word may need to be adjusted to properly point to /usr/share/dict/words - or replaced as described above. That addition was put at the end of the README.Debian. Thanks to this bugreport I'll integrate it with the existing text talking about copying that symlink. That was one part of this. The other was that you report it not working even when fixing the symlink. Please try removing the file ..../data/cache/spellchecker.dict and try again. Beware that it can take a looooong time for the first spellcheck to finish, due to the hashing of the lookup wordfile(s). The first attempt at spellchecking may even fail completely, because the connection from web browser to web server times out before that hashing is completed. Hmmm - perhaps I should mention that in README.Debian too - but I hesitate: It really is documented somewhere in MoinMoin already, and slowly growing duplicate information is bad :-( - Jonas - -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist og Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ - Enden er nær: http://www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGAN1mn7DbMsAkQLgRAmzAAJ0dImp1pg34uJJjkEY+Jy2m3GhtygCaAux7 hRhM6R2Coq49uND6JKHnwpI= =OMTS -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
