Hi, The packaging expects Asterisk 1.4 to use /var/run/asterisk for the state files (PID and control), yet Asterisk is compiled to use just /var/run. It looks like the Makefile only uses /var/run/asterisk if the system is running on Solaris. This should be pretty easy to fix by patching the Makefile, but that seems somewhat brittle.
