The reporter of #292830 wants a way to set the domain search path and suggests using "domain-name" to do it. According to the RFC that is only for setting the domain, and there was a separate RFC for the domain search path,
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3397.txt There is already a wishlist bug filed requesting support for this, #274308. I will merging them. I would also like to see support added for this. Based on my brief searching, I could find no mention of this in the documentation or upstream site. At the very least it would be nice to mention in places people might check that it's not supported currently.
