OK, I found a trivial way to get the package built successfully: apply the attached patch (almost the same as the previous, but k*BSD are supported this time), then run autoreconf (OK with both 2.13 and 2.50). Sorry for the extra mails though... It would be nice to see this bug addressed soon since it at least is a blocker for libruli, which is e.g. needed for sipsak. Thanks in advance.
