Arne Goetje brought this bug up to my attention again, so I tested on an up-to-date unstable system and I can reproduce it. Rebuilding scim-uim doesn't seem to help. And this bug is quite serious: not only scim-setup stopped working, all the input methods provided by UIM doesn't show up in the scim interface either. Basically scim-uim isn't usable on my system. I've been busy recently, and will be in the near future. I would however like to see this RC-ish bug resolved before etch release. Will investigate more.
