Hi, Ubuntu has an up-to-date package, updating the package in Debian should be trivial. It has to be uploaded to experimental, because it requires libgtk and libgnomeui from experimental.
Marco, I'm interested in getting an updated xchat-gnome package, if you
don't have time to update the package I could do this for you.
