according to 1.3.3 beta released, I only see darkness in this matter ;) If it's hardly possible to backport fix to 1.1 series, I'd rather write custom watcher as cron task and add it to a package. Say, once a minute check if there's a zabbix-server running and restart it if it doesn't.
