No, it just does the wrong thing, which is what i filled the bug report.

A typical two sided document is as follows :

                Cover
        Page 1  Page 2
        Page 3  Page 4
        Page 5  Page 6
        ...

(Well, The Cover would be the first page of the pdf, and Page 1 would be the
second, but this is a detail).

The two-sided view of evince does :

        Cover   Page 1
        Page 2  Page 3
        Page 4  Page 5
        ...

Which does the wrong thing, having the facing pages in the two-sided view,
being not the facing sides of the document, but both opposite sides of a page.
