I beg to differ.  It is far less consistent:

1. it is inconsistent with past behaviour
2. it is inconsistent with upstream firefox, as used on e.g. Windows
3. I'm not using Gnome, so I don't care to be consistent with it

I strongly urge you to revert the change and let the Gnome users do
CSS magic.
