Hm, even *I* could not reproduce that segfault. The other time there was an endless loop which I stopped with kill, and later there were only "expected" errors. I can check whether your fixes are enough to make my problems disappear. Is a checkout of svn://svn.debian.org/debconf/trunk/src/debconf the right thing to work with? Thanks so far, Frank P.S. any idea why this has never caused problems before? At least the DESTROY message should have been observed by someone?
