Package: iptables
Version: 1.3.6.0debian1-5
Severity: important

Used fwbuilder to create a script-file to set up some "rules" for iptables.
When applying these runtime. there was
no problem. I used the pre-up command in the network/interfaces file to setup
the rules for iptables before the
network is initated. This worked fine with ipdown and ifup at runtime. After
reeboting I could'nt open webpages,
but use Samba. The iptables rules was exactly the same. When using ifdown and
ifup, ifup reported that eth0 could
not be iniated (but I could still use samba via the eth0, but not open
webpages). Then I tried to use runlevels
instead, initiating before netwotk, with the sam result. Now I am using post-up
in interfaces to run the script
and everything works alright. I have done som more test with the same result, I
cant't setup iptables rules before
the network is initiated during boot, I have to setup the iptables rules after
ifup. It do seems like some of the
iptable rules are not setup correctly if it is done before ifup during boot.
