I rebooted my machine to (an old desktop) and still have the same problem. Then I moved /usr/lib/pulse-0.9/modules/module-hal-detect.so to /tmp and pulseaudio starts again. I guess what I lost through that is that pulseaudio detects when I plug in my USB headset. Anyway, seems more a hal problem than a pulseaudio-module-hal, no? Best, Norbert
