hello,
i'm a greek mplayer user. all these days i've been trying to load greek
subs in divx and xvid videos and i couldn't, despite having the correct
settings for encoding etc. after a lot of search managed to get it work
by doing the following:
i edited /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf
and i disabled lines :
truetype font, using fontconfig
fontconfig=1
font='Sans'
these lines forced mplayer to use ONLY sans truetype font. so if the
users selected any other font there would be a problem with loading the
subtitles.
after i desabled these lines everything worked ok for me and now i can
choose which font i wan't to use from gmplayer preferences menu.
