I know he says that, but I disagree with him. This program does not actually need root, the only reason he even said it is because of the priority issues.

When it dropped priority (as non-root), it stopped working (which seems odd to me, but it did). That's a major effect, but it doesn't effect everyone since you could run it as root.

It seemed appropriate. Normal is talking about where part of the program fails, but mostly it works, which was not the case here.
