Or by trying to open it, which is the way I choose in 0.4-3 which fixes this problem in, I think, quite a good way. At least I'm happy with this solution; if there's anything better to do, don't hesitate. I'll investigate further the kernel side of the MCE handling when I'll get some time, hopefully soon.
