Just to say I've experienced this bug too since the first iceweasel.
On startup, the following 2 errors are recorded in my Firebug console:

To re-iterate, using Firefox 2.0.0.1 it works perfectly. And yes,
I have a blank home page setting.
Foxyproxy is also broken in Iceweasel but works in Firefox; I'll
raise a separate bug for that.
