Package: mc Version: 1:4.6.1-6 Severity: normal If you use the filsystem-over-ssh 'fish' feature: cd #sh:machine then find a softlink to a text file (in this cae it was /etc/exim4/email-addresses which is a link to ../email-addresses )
then hit F3 to view that file with the built-in viewer. It show the first few characters of that file then just dots. I suspect it is using the length of the link, rather than the linked-to file to read the contents. If you try to delete the file (which is actually a link), then the link remains but points nowhere. It appears to have had the link content deleted, not either the link itself or the targetted file (either of which would make sense - no doubt posix has something to say about which should happen). -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages mc depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-11 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libglib2.0-0 2.12.4-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-24 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib ii libslang2 2.0.6-4 The S-Lang programming library - r mc recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
