I should explain better. A common action in Firefox is to paste in a URL from the X clipboard. In Windows, this is easy. Just press Ctrl-V and paste.
The problem is, in Linux, many people use the X clipboard. It is frustrating to try to paste from the X clipboard into the Firefox address bar. The bar is never empty, yet highlighting it and pressing Delete would overwrite the clipboard. To avoid this problem, people tend to click in the bar and hold down the Delete key until the bar is clear. It takes a while to delete the long URLs that many web apps (e.g. Gmail) use nowadays. This problem could be resolved by Recommending mozilla-diggler with firefox. Diggler is a Mozilla/Firefox extension which adds a new button to the Firefox toolbar. The button simply clears the toolbar. What do you think of my proposed solution? Cheers, Jason -- Jason Spiro: computer consulting with a smile.
