I've also received private requests for this bug to be fixed, so I looked into it a bit.
> Unfortunately, that patch doesn't really help: > http://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2006/12/msg00565.html Digging around a bit shows <http://lists.debian.org/debian-alpha/2006/12/msg00030.html> as the message explaining exactly what the subsequent error is. I'm not sure that the relocation error affects all modules, though -- perhaps applying this patch would be of /some/ benefit to users of SMP kernels, even if it doesn't fix the problems with all modules? Andrew's post mentions problems with ipv6, and /references/ an older post reporting problems with xfs, but has anybody tested that e.g., xfs is still broken? Norbert, do you have any further thoughts on this? Thanks, -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
