No, not really. It's only the switch that needs a bit of care. Maybe an extra init script that installs a different keymap on boot depending on the kernel version could solve this.
This looks like an errata item. Maybe it is already? I know there is a list of errata, I was just too stupid to find it...
I would suggest a paragraph in the release notes for Sparc.
