Another user reported this some days ago, too, after he upgraded from Sarge
to Etch (but he replied it to an unrelated bug report so I create a new one
now).

The problem is most likely that the binaries in mysql-server-5.0 and the lib
in libmysqlclient15 do not match. Please check if those two packages have
exactly the same version:
        $ dpkg -l "*mysql*" "*zlib*" | grep ^.i

The next step would check if the version of zlib is high enough for mysql.
Maybe they changed something so that mysql has to raise the version number
in its dependency line. I can see this in if you send me the output of the
above commands.

Apropos, is this a pure etch (testing)/unstable system or did you mix
with experimental or sarge (stable)?

bye,

-christian-
