Hmm, that's unfortunate. I see the rationale, but I guess my vote would be to drop the default launcher. That's driven by principle, more than anything else (mousepad *is* quite lightweight/small). Having a graphical text editor bundled pulled in by a general-purpose launcher just rings my "bloat-alarms" :-) Feel free to reassign this as 'Wishlist' if you think dropping the default launcher (and associated dependency) is a bad plan.
