Well, I can also only recommend you to try it with an older version or move
the tables to a different machine.

But can you have a look at this bug report:
  http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=21765
It is supposed to be fixed in 5.0.32. If your "cat /proc/cpuinfo" looks
exactly the same then we should tell MySQL that their fix did not work.
