I have just checked the Changes file within the multitail 4.2.0 Debian source and I note the following change that was made in version 3.8.10:
" - searching in the scrollback window would give segfaults in certain situations, also "search next" would not work" This sounds like the bug I am hitting with the current multitail that's in Sarge. -- .''`.
