Package: metar Version: 20050103.1-2 Severity: wishlist
The first METAR I got with this program was this: EFHK 282020Z VRB02KT CAVOK M06/M09 Q1026 0409//75 5409//80 1519//69 NOSIG The decoded output was this: Station : EFHK Day : 28 Time : 2020 UTC Wind direction: 0 Wind stength : 0 Wind gust : 0 Visibility : 0 Temperature : -6 C Dewpoint : -9 C Pressure : 1026 hPa Clouds : Phenomena : It seems the program didn't understand wind or visibility information. VRB02KT means that wind direction is variable at 2 knots. CAVOK means "ceiling and visibility OK", in other words visibility is 10 kilometers or more and no clouds are present under 5000 feet. There's a good document for decoding METAR and TAF messages at http://users.tkk.fi/~stoivane/metar/. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-ck7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages metar depends on: ii libcurl3 7.13.1-2 Multi-protocol file transfer libra -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
