Package: libssh2 Version: 0.14+20070102-1 Severity: wishlist Hi! Thanks for packaging libssh2 for Debian.
I have been working with upstream to port libssh2 to use Libgcrypt instead of OpenSSL. That makes it easier to use it with programs or libraries that include GPL'd components. This problem has been a concern for other packages in Debian historically, so I thought you'd might be interested in doing a similar change for this package. As of today, the code in the libssh2 CVS supports all features of libssh2 via libgcrypt instead of OpenSSL. Would you consider using newer source and building with --with-libgcrypt? If it helps, you can find packaged daily builds of libssh2 from: http://josefsson.org/daily/libssh2/ You'll need to grab the 20070202 version or later.
