Package: egroupware Version: 1.2.106-2.dfsg-1 Severity: important I've noticed that when synchronizing a Funambol client, lot of text in some fields will make the server crap out with an SQL error since it try to put a string longer than varchar 64 into a database field. I have not checked all fields, but this one typically happens with the address field when people use cut'n'paste in Outlook and just paste an entire adress into the first address line.
I am actually wondering what would be the correct behaviour here. Just silently trunkating the string isn't really ideal either. I reckon the best solution would actually be to change the database field - preferably to "text" (if using PostgreSQL) - and I reckon this goes for most of the fields actually. Storage is CHEAP these days.
