I tried to move the panel to the 2nd screen via the config dialog where I can choose Monitor 1 or 2. As soon as I clicked "2", the panel crashed. I use both screens at the same time, without Xinerama (I have to disable it because of the ATI driver, if I use Xinerama, GL acceleration fails). No Debian upgrade recently.
