I've looked into this, and officially decide that the 1.05+ behaviour is
"correct". Earlier versions had a buffer overflow, that's why the messages
changed.
The behaviour is not optimal, but a robust user program needs to handle
the resulting zero-length files, and I'd rather not risk changing some of the
core decoding logic until upstream (uudeview) figures out a better solution.
