In an etch upgrade about a month ago, my sound quit working under GNOME. During startup .xsession_errors shows:
ALSA lib confmisc.c:670:(snd_func_card_driver) cannot find card '0' ALSA lib conf.c:3500:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_card_driver returned error: No such device ALSA lib confmisc.c:391:(snd_func_concat) error evaluating strings ALSA lib conf.c:3500:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_concat returned error: No such device ALSA lib confmisc.c:1070:(snd_func_refer) error evaluating name ALSA lib conf.c:3500:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_refer returned error: No such device ALSA lib conf.c:3968:(snd_config_expand) Evaluate error: No such device ALSA lib pcm.c:2143:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default Sound still works fine under KDE. I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1 and a builtin Intel 82801DB ICH4 AC'97 sound card on my motherboard. I don't know much about debugging this. Rerunning alsaconf does nothing to fix this. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Expecting? Get great news right away with email Auto-Check.
