I've found a solution: the problem was not with acpi-support, but with the configuration of hibernate. In /etc/hibernate/ram.conf I had to comment the two lines:
EnableVbetool yes VbetoolPost yes Since then it works like a charm. (I imagine setting the above to no, instead of commenting them has the same effect). Moritz
