eclipse is still not in testing. The stand-alone swt-gtk package, on the other hand, was in Sarge, and will be in Etch as well. The lack of stability in eclipse has been my argument all along for maintaining swt-gtk separately from eclipse. In any case, bug #340998 is a real bug and easily fixed. libswt3.2-gtk-java does not and should not conflict with libswt-gtk-3.2-java. Only the -jni packages actually conflict.
