I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 (E1505) laptop with this audio card: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) By default, the phonejack detection doesn't work, but I found a working solution at http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=1183761&postcount=3 which consists of adding the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base: ------------8<------------- options snd-hda-intel model=z71v position_fix=1 ------------8<------------- After adding this and removing and reloading the module (snd_hda_intel), the headphones jack detection works fine.
