I see. I must have gotten it from Christian Marillat's repository of
Debian multimedia tools:

  : [EMAIL PROTECTED] 10856 ; dpkg -s autopano-sift
  Package: autopano-sift
  Status: install ok installed
  Priority: optional
  Section: graphics
  Installed-Size: 468
  Maintainer: Christian Marillat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  Bugs: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
  Architecture: i386
  Version: 2.4-0.4
  Depends: libglade-cil, libgdiplus (>= 1.1.18), libmono-sharpzip0.84-cil
  Description: automatically create control points for panorama image
   Autopano-SIFT looks at your images and compares information about the
   images' content to order them correctly. Together with programs like hugin
   and enblend, you can create top-quality panorama images.

The upstream license appears to be GPL
(http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~nowozin/autopano-sift/), so perhaps this
package could be considered for addition to Debian?
