Of course not, because you're using the Debian source package!  It's
been filtered in order to respect debian's source control mechanisms.
When I build for my Ubuntu laptop, I'm starting from the sources in
Mercurial, and run the script "./gen-tarball ubuntu" to generate the
source tarball plus diffs for Ubuntu.

You should probably contact me off-line so we can talk about better
ways I can supply packages for Ubuntu; it's probably not appropriate
for Debian BTS....
