I cannot reproduce this. Please change your password in /etc/exim/passwd.client to something containing $ or ^ (but _not_ being your password) and send me the output of echo bla | exim4 -odq [EMAIL PROTECTED]; exim4 -d-all+lists+expand -M $(exipick -i -bpu) This assumes an otherwise empty queue, or the exipick expression won't hold. It is ok for the authentication to fail (because of an incorrect password). If you want the output to be private, send it to me in private. I see issues with passwords that contain ":" as this is the list delimiter. I'll investigate this.
