I've also tried with an other version, debian 3.1 r2 downloaded from via ftp. The hw-detect stops when detecting cd-rom drives, the last message is: "loading sd_mod for scsi disk support" or something similar. The ide check is OK!!!! I tried to disconnect the other cd-rom drives and the hard-drive I didn't need, but the problem still remains!!!
