The upstream release (0.20) contains important bugfixes that affects me. The fixed version has been out since august.
Proof of concept of bug: perl -MHTTP::Proxy -MHTTP::Proxy::BodyFilter -e 'my $proxy = HTTP::Proxy->new(port =>2522); $proxy->start;' Run that, then set 127.0.0.1 port 2522 as your http proxy, then try to go to any page on english wikipedia. I contacted the author and he said it was fixed in the latest version.
