Package: installation-guide Version: svn The information about booting the installer on PPC-PReP machines could need some updating, I could not boot a Motorola Powerstack II from CD (used the daily d-i build: cdimage.d.o:/cdimage/daily-builds/sid_d-i/20070103-2/powerpc/iso-cd/debian-testing-powerpc-netinst.iso). The CD itself was readable during installation in the same CD-ROM drive, so it should not be a hardware fault. I've tried other daily builds as well, same result.
A somewhat related issue is that the boot string for netbooting is wrong. For PReP-machines, the firmware expects: "boot net:<server-ip>,<file>,<client-ip>" I would propose the following patch to the docbook manual sources: Index: en/boot-installer/powerpc.xml =================================================================== --- en/boot-installer/powerpc.xml (revision 43870) +++ en/boot-installer/powerpc.xml (working copy) @@ -8,7 +8,8 @@ <para> Currently, the only &arch-title; subarchitectures that support CD-ROM -booting are PReP and New World PowerMacs.
