  Hm, do you have a terminal where C-f and C-b don't work?

  (M-* is pretty much out for now -- AFAIK there's no reliable way
   to detect the meta modifier using straight curses)

  It looks like none of PageUp, PageDown, C-f, C-b, Home, End, C-a, C-e,
and probably a couple other common shortcuts are documented in the
quick-help.
