  Incidentally, one potential problem I forgot is that if you already have 
those installed for some reason, the command I gave above will remove them.  
I can patch aptitude to add a ":" suffix that causes all actions on a package 
to be cancelled (like pressing ":" in visual mode) if that would be 
preferable.  It depends on whether you expect people to possibly install 
development stuff prior to this step.
