Package: libtiff4 Version: 3.7.2-1 Severity: minor Jay,
You've handled this library admirably so far. I wonder if I could test your resolve by filing another request related to a broken tiff file format used by a particular imaging system vendor - Kodak this time. Their GelLogic 440 Gel Documentation system software (KODAK 1D ver 3.6 - most current) produces tiff files that cause the following error message to be generated by libtiff4 using Gimp 2.2: TIFF image Message 1 wrong data type 1 for "RichTIFFIPTC"; tag ignored TIFF image Message 2 invalid TIFF directory; tags are not sorted in ascending order I have an example problem file at http://debian.tagancha.org/bugs/2005-03-17.tif I filed a request with Kodak technical support to fix this problem but I don't have any hope that they will actually do anything about it. Please advise me if you can work around this or if I should just bite my lip and click on the "OK" button for the next few years or write a script to fix these tags and run it every time I get more images from this system.
