When the file requestor is used, for example opening a file in XMMS, I've noticed that if directory contains files or directories that have names containing Japanese or Chinese characters it totally breaks the behaviour of the file requestor. The normal behaviour when entering higher directory or decending from the current directory is to list the directories withing the new one on the left and the files on the right. However, when there is Japanese or Chinese character in the current directory the left side isn't changed but the right is updated to a list of the complete paths of the files in the new directory. You can select the files like this and the application that opened the requestor loads the file but it makes it very hard to navigate directories.
