Package: Gnumeric
Version: 1.6.3
When printing a spreadsheet from gnumeric in landscape mode the text is
printed perpendicular to the paper and extends off the edge.
For example, if one has created a spreadsheet which is to wide for
printing in portrait such as this one:
--------
|A wide |spreadhseet

---------
You would try to print it in landscape:
---------------
Landscape

---------------
But gnumeric is printing it like this (the text is also rotated 90
degress which I can't show here):
---------------
L
a
n
---------d-----
s
c

This problem shows up in both in print preview as well as actual printing.
There is an option in gnumeric page setup to rotate "feed orientation"
90 degrees but I believe this only refers to the way in which the
printers feed mechanism works and is not related to the formatting of
the text on the page as such. This does make the page show up correctly
in print preview however, but my printer does not have a landscape paper
feeder and so it will not print.
I believe this problem did no occur in Gnueric 1.4.3-4 in Debian Stable
I am using Gnumeric 1.6.3 in Debian Etch.
This may be related to a known bug in Gnumeric:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328926
, though that bug is Gnumeric on MS Windows.
Have a nice day,
Brett
