Now, could you try with the following command ? env `gdmXnest -b` GDM_THEME=industrial DOING_GDM_DEVELOPMENT=yes GDM_PARENT_DISPLAY="$DISPLAY" GDM_IS_LOCAL=yes GDM_FLEXI_SERVER=yes gdb /usr/lib/gdm/gdmgreeter A new window should appear, and at the gdb prompt in the initial window you type "run", then "bt" at the segmentation fault time.
