I'm making this report here because what I am experiencing appears to be identical to the previously filed bug #303839, but I also note before I start that dpkg claims that I no longer have xscreensaver-gnome installed:
$ dpkg -s xscreensaver-gnome Package: xscreensaver-gnome Status: purge ok not-installed Priority: optional Section: x11 That said: Package: xscreensaver Version: 4.24-5 Kernel: 2.6.18-3-686 Libc: 2.3.6.ds1-8 Bug was first experienced following dist-upgrade from sarge to etch. xscreensaver generally works, except the first time I try to use my machine after sleeping the whole machine is locked. This leads me to suspect that the problem lies with the power saving features in xscreensaver. I have tried disabling power management using the gnome panel applet (and confirmed that the changes are reflected in ~/.xscreensaver), but this has made no difference. Graphics chipset is VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500] X Driver is the xorg ati driver in etch: $ dpkg -s xserver-xorg-video-ati | grep ^[PV][ae][cr] Package: xserver-xorg-video-ati Version: 1:6.6.3-2 There does not appear to be anything helpful logged anywhere. -- Dave Stewart __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
