Wow, you're very right: I only have one icon until I start the root
terminal, then the second icon appears.  When I close the root terminal,
the second icon goes away.

I have to say that seeing two icons is quite confusing: for example this
seems to mean that the root terminal will have a different SCIM
configuration than the other user windows, and also there's no way to
tell which of the two icons belongs to the user and which belongs to
root.

However, if that is how scim works, then so be it.

I'll let you decide if this bug should be closed, or retitled something
like "Taskbar icon behaviour is confusing when there are windows run as
different users" and given priority wishlist.
