I can reproduce this bug in etch, but not in sid. Therefore it looks like
a problem in one of the dependencies.

etch:  libacl1        2.2.41-1
sid:   libacl1        2.2.42-1

etch:  libattr1       2.4.32-1
sid:   libattr1       1:2.4.32-1.1

etch:  libc6          2.3.6.ds1-8
sid:   libc6          2.3.6.ds1-9

etch:  libfontconfig1 2.4.1-2
sid:   libfontconfig1 2.4.2-1

etch:  libgcc1        1:4.1.1-19
sid:   libgcc1        1:4.1.1-21

etch:  libstdc++6     4.1.1-19
sid:   libstdc++6     4.1.1-21

I tried downgrading libacl1, libattr1 and libfontconfig1 in sid to the
versions in etch, and ktrack kept not crashing. Downgrading libgcc1 and
libstdc++6 was a bit more tricky, so I tried upgrading them from etch to
the version is sid, and ktrack crashed anyway.

Maybe it's not one of these deps, and is some other, indirect dep. By the
way, I don't have the full KDE thing installed in neither of these
environments.
