Hi, I have been hit by this too. The bug actually seems to be in libattr1:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=403585 It blated a lot of update scripts (tetex-* woul not update and bomb out horribly as a result). I have downgraded to libattr1_2.4.32-1_i386.deb for the time being and held the package till things settle down. Things are fine now for me. Just thought you would like to know.
