Package: linsmith
Severity: important

There have been two new upstream releases of linsmith (0.99.2 and
0.99.3, versus Debian's current 0.99.1) which fix a number of buffer
overruns. The nastiest of these overruns was discovered a few months ago
in Ubuntu, and will result in a crash on startup if a font with a fairly
long name is installed on the system. This renders the package
completely unusable on such systems.

I can upload the new version to Ubuntu now, but that would leave these
bugs in Debian, and increase the Debian-Ubuntu delta. As we endeavour to
keep the delta to a minimum, it would be vastly preferable if 0.99.3
was to enter Debian first, as Ubuntu could then sync it from there.
