Package: linsmith Severity: important There have been two new upstream releases of linsmith (0.99.2 and 0.99.3, versus Debian's current 0.99.1) which fix a number of buffer overruns. The nastiest of these overruns was discovered a few months ago in Ubuntu, and will result in a crash on startup if a font with a fairly long name is installed on the system. This renders the package completely unusable on such systems.
I can upload the new version to Ubuntu now, but that would leave these bugs in Debian, and increase the Debian-Ubuntu delta. As we endeavour to keep the delta to a minimum, it would be vastly preferable if 0.99.3 was to enter Debian first, as Ubuntu could then sync it from there. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-686 Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
